Welcome to my world—as experienced on paper and canvas.

As an artist, I am intrigued by color and what can be amazing results from a simple brush stroke.  Bold or delicate, washed or opaque, my work tends to represent an exaggerated and perhaps quirky view of our natural world.  Especially in Alaska, where vistas are grand, animals are wild, and encounters often extreme, my paintings embrace the boldness of a life spent in the very far North.

I live and work in Anchorage, Alaska and travel out often for art shows, workshops, and to deliver commissions. The mix has done well to expand my subject matter as well. From trees, otters and bears in Alaska to cows, horses, and chickens in the Lower 48, the variety has been both challenging and rewarding.  And, I am stunned and grateful that everywhere I go, people want me to paint their pets! Commissioned portraits of beloved dogs, horses, and a cat or two now top my the list of requests.

From trees to animals to female nudes or beach scenes, I paint either larger scale acrylics or smaller watercolors. I have recently ventured out from canvas to create uniquely painted doors— and even custom and themed bike helmets. I am available to work on special projects— inside and out. Painting workshops are a joy to host and it is always a pleasure to see people blossom as painters, even for a few hours.
